Welcome at daycare Twinkel
Why choose Twinkel?

Our Vision
At Twinkel, childcare is based on four core pedagogical goals:
-
Physical and emotional safety
-
Development of personal competencies
-
Development of social competencies
-
Internalization of norms and values
Twinkel recognizes that every child is a unique individual who deserves to be accepted and valued as such. Each child has the right to develop their own identity and to be fully encouraged in exploring and strengthening their personal competencies.
We aim to offer these opportunities in a safe environment—both physically and emotionally. It is essential that the individual child does not suffer because of the group, just as the group should not be disrupted by the individual.
Unlike at home, a child at Twinkel is part of a group. Children come together, interact with peers, and gain new experiences that help them grow. Being part of a group allows them to learn from one another.
Under the professional guidance of our dedicated childcare staff, they share experiences, find recognition in each other, challenge and support one another. They stimulate each other and learn how to collaborate. At Twinkel, this approach helps to maximize the development of their social competencies.
Through play, children also learn essential norms and values in a healthy and joyful environment. Our caring and enthusiastic staff work every day to uphold and realize these core goals.

Read more about our Parent Council
Twinkel’s Parent Council is made up of Marissa Veldhuis, mother of Zoé; Esther de Krijger-Volkert, mother of Louan and Noé; and Tirzah de Winter, mother of Feline.
The goal of the Parent Council is to represent the interests of the children as best as possible and to act as a voice for parents in discussions with management and daily leadership. We provide advice on proposed decisions regarding the implementation of:
-
The quality plan (e.g. child-to-staff ratio, group size, staff qualifications, and deployment of trainees)
-
The pedagogical policy plan
-
Nutrition-related matters
-
Health and safety risk assessments
-
Opening hours
-
Changes in childcare fees
-
The complaints procedure
For complaints from the Parent Council itself, we refer you to the website of the Disputes Committee.
We also act as a point of contact for all parents. You can reach out to the Parent Council to suggest agenda items, share ideas, or provide feedback via email at info@twinkel.nl. Of course, you can also find us in the hallways at Twinkel!
We meet approximately six times a year. A Twinkel staff member is usually present at most meetings. Once a year, we hold a public Parent Council meeting, and everyone is warmly invited to attend! Minutes of each meeting are recorded and kept on file.
You can find the Parent Council Regulations and the Internal Rules here.

About us
Twinkel Daycare has been typically Twinkel since 1993. With decades of experience in childcare, we know what truly matters to a child. In our safe and cheerful groups, children always feel more than just at home.
Our pedagogical staff understand that professionalism should never come at the expense of genuine, personal attention. At our daycare, light and space are key—combined with joyful, natural elements.
Our play materials are colorful and stimulating, and within our unique 4-group concept, children move to a new group each year, making new discoveries that are tailored to their age and stage of development.
Both parents and children experience that special Twinkel feeling every day—the warm sense that there is always someone there for you when you need them.
That’s what makes Twinkel typical and truly unique.
